The New Jersey Shore is over 127 miles long. Walk on the beach. Swim. Scuba dive. Surf. Play in the Ocean waves. Build a sand castle. Hunt for seashells. Raft and fish. Most beaches have lifeguards and are handicapped accessible. Some beaches have a beach fee, tennis courts, boat ramps, bathhouses, picnic areas, amusement arcades and a boardwalk.

The Coastal Heritage Trail Route is over 300 miles. It was established in 1988. The trail starts in Perth Amboy and goes south through Cape May. It travels through 5 regions: Delsea, Cape May, Absecon, Barnegat Bay and Sandy Hook.

The Jersey shore has 2 beach state parks. Sandy Hook State Park is in northern New Jersey and Island Beach State Park which is located in the Southern part of the state near Seaside Park.

The most famous and popular resort is Atlantic City. Its best known for its casinos, sandy white beaches, boardwalk and saltwater taffy. Many people buy saltwater taffy as a souvenir of the New Jersey coast. Atlantic City is an all year resort. People come to gamble, walk the boardwalk and play in the ocean.
